PONYBOY

Writer & Director

PONYBOY was my Senior Capstone film that was written, produced, and edited within 18 months.

The short-film follows Donnie, a local DJ in search of a new thrill, and a sense of personal identity. He becomes increasingly involved in the illegal fight ring sponsored by his club, further damaging his already strained relationships.

Currently in secondary stages of post-production.

The Idea

PONYBOY came to me on a walk home from class. I was making my way out of CCM listening to “Ponyboy” by SOPHIE while scrolling Instagram. My algorithm dumped me at a post of college-aged boys competing in a charity boxing match, and I immediately knew.

“This is such an interesting juxtaposition… I should explore this.”

I went home and wrote the first five pages of PONYBOY. A dive into the polar opposite worlds of MMA fighting and the Queer club scene.

Fun Fact!

One of my favorite parts of this project was getting to use some of my Graphic Design knowledge to create posters used in the club scenes!
